March Prayer Service
Theme: Responding to the Treasure: To choose God, to answer his love, is to learn from his Son Jesus, it is to listen to him - God’s gift calls my gift. God gives me a treasure: Are we good stewards of the treasure that God gives us.Hymn: Parish Alive – Bishop Paul-André
Psalm 51.1-2, 3-4a, 10-11, 12+15
R. Happy are they who follow the way of the Lord
Happy are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord.
Happy are those who keep His decrees
who seek him with their whole heart.
R.
You have commanded your precepts
to be kept diligently.
Oh, that my ways may be steadfast
in keeping your statutes!
R.
Deal bountifully with your servant,
so that I may live and observe your word.
Open my eyes so that I may behold
wondrous things out of your law.
R.
Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes,
and I will observe it to the end.
Give me understanding, that I may keep your law
and observe it with my whole heart.
R.
Thoughts for Reflection;
We are responsible for the treasure that God gives us. The ten commandments show us how to live this responsibility. Jesus worked to purify the temple so that it became what God wanted it to be. We are that temple. Each one of us can help build up that temple by sharing our time, talents and material treasure.
Hard questions are the stuff of Lent. The struggle and discipline to turn our thoughts and hearts back toward the Father is the work to be done. Perseverance, prayer and reflection, and good works are the means
How often do we turn our selves, the true temple of the Father, into a marketplace that seeks only its own profit?
A moment for silent reflection
Let us raise our hands and hearts to repeat the prayer that Jesus has taught us.
Our Father…………….
Make the sign of the cross as you say the blessing together;
+ May Almighty God Bless us and protect us from all evil and bring us to life everlasting.
Amen.
